About Anna Steffen

Thanks to my late grandmother who was a seamstress, I have a talent for sewing. My love of films and tv led me to study costume construction in the Theatre Dept. at Ohio State University. While there I developed an interest in Theatre Operations too, which led to my former position with CAPA just prior to graduation. In my former position with CAPA I provided customer service and adminstative support for multiple venues and multiple companies all managed thru a single office. I have been responsible for booking the volunteer ushers for the Ohio Theatre and more recently with the task of scheduling the public tours of our multiple venues. In 2014, I received a promotion to Donor Records Coordinator. In this position I managed the donations records for multiple companies including CAPA, CATCO, Drexel, Lincoln Theatre Assoc and the McCoy Center. I'm fascinated with historic costuming and thru my mentors at the Ohio History Connection I am expanding on my knowledge of period construction techniques. I continue to research, design and create my own costuming as well as that of the volunteer wardrobe. I love to hang out at museums of historic, and just plain odd, topics, in the pursuit of gaining more knowledge. More recently I've been an active member of the Single Action Shooters Society. This interest also provides me another avenue to practice my costuming skills. My goals are to establish a rewarding career utilizing my skills and knowledge in historic costuming and needlework. From 4/16 to 5/19, I worked for Live! Technologies as their seamstress in the Drapery, Staging and Fabrication department. From there I temped for HighCom Armor as an industrial Seamstress.Specialties- Costume Construction utilizing both contemporary and period sewing techniques- Bead embroidery. Industrial sewing machine use- Researching costume history and historic character history for interpretation purposes- Western enthusiast- scheduling & booking, data input
