About Anna Szabo

Anna is a policy adviser and international development practitioner specialising in climate change, economic development and social protection. She is passionate about leveraging programs and public decision-making processes to reduce systemic inequalities and make a tangible difference in peoples' daily lives. Anna has over ten years of experience working for the federal government and not-for-profit sector, and is an experienced strategy consultant, facilitator and public speaker. Anna is currently undertaking a Masters in International Aid and Development at the University of Cambridge, where she is writing her dissertation on how to better integrate social policy considerations into climate-resilient development programs and climate finance mechanisms, with a focus on the Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETPs). Anna is a proud culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) woman and is passionate about supporting young people from diverse backgrounds, especially women, to embrace their leadership potential. In 2022 and 2023, Anna helped establish and then led the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Cultural Diversity Taskforce, which resulted in the department agreeing to introduce the target of achieving 20% CALD-identifying staff at the Senior Executive Service (SES) and Senior Adviser (EL2) levels by 2029.
