About Anna Tischer
My commitment to understanding and improving human health drives my pursuit of a career in neuroscience research, particularly on substance use disorders. My main interest is in exploring how drug mechanisms affect the brain across molecular, cellular, and circuit levels to influence behavior. I am interested in understanding what makes certain individuals more vulnerable to developing a substance use disorder and its comorbidity with other mental health disorders. By utilizing behavioral neuroimaging and mechanistic pharmacology, I aim to leverage this knowledge to advance therapeutic interventions. I am also passionate about addressing disparities in the prevention and treatment of mental health disorders to make effective therapeutics accessible to everyone.
