Background
About Anna Vercambre
I have worked professionally as a photographer for five years, and five years as an amateur, specialising in documentary and reportage photography. My work has been used in exhibitions, namely Photofusion and Copeland gallery, publications including The Skinny and social media campaigns on female reproductive health. I have experience producing high-quality imagery for various clients, including The Shard, COP26, UNESCO and the Scottish based welfare organisation Fanny Riot. I have skills which span digital and analog photography including cyanotype, Van Dyke and darkroom techniques.I also have experience in curatorial assistance through exhibitions at Copeland Gallery, Peckham, and Photofusion, Brixton. I have worked with a range of professionals, including CEOs, board members, and stakeholders, in both creative and professional settings. In my role at Simon Community Scotland, I worked to develop creative projects to support individuals experiencing homelessness. As a freelance photojournalist, I gained journalistic experience through interviews conducted for several articles on the survival of small businesses in Glasgow. Additionally, my skills in qualitative research, developed during my bachelor's degree, further strengthen my ability to gather and present compelling narratives.I have extensive experience with professional-grade equipment, including the Canon 5D IV, which has been my main camera for the last three years. My technical skills include: lighting, both natural and artificial, including studio lighting and speedlites. Editing and post production with extensive use of Adobe suite programmes including Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro. Archiving and metadata management, experienced with organising and categorising large image libraries for long term use and quick retrieval. In my role as a market manager I managed logistical operations of community markets, in which there tended to be last minute changes to location and numbers of vendors. As a harm reduction worker, I often had to make dynamic risk assessments and real time decisions and logistical adjustments based on the needs of the people we were working with. As a photographer, I have had multiple experiences of managing unexpected changes to briefs including adjusting lighting set ups, changes due to weather conditions and being able to capture spontaneous moments with unpredictable subjects.
