Stream biogeochemist and ecosystem ecologist. My research interests are in nutrient cycling and ecosystem function, human impacts, land use, and climate change. For my Ph.D, I examined the controls on ammonium cycling, nitrification, and ecosystem metabolism, considering land use impacts, the effectiveness of agricultural conservation practices, and comparing ammonium export to other solutes. My M.S. thesis and undergraduate research centered on the ecological effects of novel pollutants (plastic) in urban streams.
