About Anna Widgren

I am qualified research scientist with 25+ years’ experience of work in analytical and bioanalytical laboratories. I have 15 years of hands-on experience in protein chemistry and mass spectrometry-based proteomics, encompassing various biological systems, techniques and bioinformatics solutions. I have a broad experience in analyzing the protein content of clinical samples (human tissues, cerebrospinal fluid, blood, cell lines, etc). My research interests focus on finding a panel of biomarkers for early diagnosis of different neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, chronic pain, and traumatic brain injury). I have a good experience to work and report results according to GLP standards. I am a driven and energetic person and always want to learn more in the field of life science, and have the ambition to contribute with my analytical skills and problem-solving capacity in the striving for developing better diagnostic or therapeutic techniques I have experience in planning and executing projects, and delivering results in time. I enjoy working in collaborations, where everyone can exchange ideas and contribute with their different experiences, in order to reach common goals. Further, my colleagues would describe me as a person who contributes to a happy and respecting atmosphere, having a fair and positive attitude and a helpful mind. My main work related interests are in the fields of analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, method development, biochemistry, chromatography, clinical chemistry, data analysis, experimental setup.
