About Anna Wilson

I am the Managing Partner at Bristol-based law firm, Barcan+Kirby LLP, which offers a comprehensive range of legal services to individuals and businesses nationwide. I am responsible for the day-to-day management of Barcan+Kirby and for developing and implementing the firm’s strategic plans for growth and success with our Executive Board, which I chair. I work directly with our internal teams to manage operational risk and compliance issues, IT, systems, and facilities. I also work closely with our Heads of Department, HR, Marketing and Business Development teams to ensure the successful delivery of business plans in line with our strategy. I am passionate about creating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive working environment where everyone feels supported, empowered and inspired. Before becoming Managing Partner, I was Barcan+Kirby’s Executive Partner for ten years. I managed our HR, Marketing and Business Development departments and Heads of Department. I mentored and supported many individuals and teams of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. I introduced peer-led committees to support wellbeing and mental health and to drive a culture of belonging and contribution. I also devised, implemented and maintained numerous new initiatives for our staff including a comprehensive development programme offering opportunities at every level. I have practised family law for nearly three decades, advising clients on all aspects, including separating or divorcing couples, domestic abuse, financial settlements arising from separation and arrangements for children. I am a trained collaborative lawyer, a Specialist Accredited Resolution and a Law Society Family Panel member. I have always actively promoted a conciliatory approach to family disputes and, in cases where litigation has been necessary, I am an experienced court advocate.
