As Head of History Educator and EDI Lead, I am deeply committed to education’s transformative power. My career has centred on improving academic outcomes while fostering belonging and empowerment for every young person I support. I strive to create learning environments where students thrive, feel valued, and are inspired to achieve their fullest potential. I excel in leadership roles, particularly in driving innovation and collaboration. As an EDI advocate, I have worked tirelessly to dismantle barriers and amplify every voice. Through leading impactful initiatives, training sessions, and conference presentations, I create meaningful, lasting change at an organisational level, championing diversity and inclusivity in every space I occupy. In leading teaching, I have witnessed the transformative impact of tailored instruction. I improved GCSE outcomes by 12%, with 50% of my first cohort achieving grade 7 or above and 42% securing grade 8 or higher. In my most recent Year 11 cohort, all students achieved grade 5 or above, with 75% attaining grade 8 or higher, thanks to the systems I implemented as Lead Practitioner. These achievements represent students’ hard work, resilience, and growth. I have consistently taught high-performing exam classes, raising Progress 8 scores while sparking a passion for history that encourages curiosity, confidence, and progression to A Level study. My deep understanding of the curriculum, including A Level and GCSE courses, underpins my commitment to making learning accessible and engaging for all. I employ strategies to address diverse needs, ensuring every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to excel. Beyond the classroom, I contribute to the historical community through published works and national campaigns, including a collaborative project with the Department for Education. My experience also extends to international development and humanitarian work, where I have successfully planned and delivered projects that empower communities. From fieldwork to grant management, I consistently achieve meaningful outcomes, driven by a dedication to positive impact.
