About Annalee W.

I have a diverse background in marine mammal research, environmental sustainability, education, and community engagement - bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to ocean conservation. Through my work in the Whale Acoustic Reconnaissance Program and past roles in research, outreach, and enrichment, I’ve developed a deep respect for the sensory worlds and survival challenges of wildlife, above and below our oceans surface. I’ve contributed to grassroots environmental efforts through canvassing and education campaigns, promoting nature-based solutions as accessible pathways to climate resilience and conservation. I’m passionate about making science accessible through creative communication, and I’m currently brainstorming a series of inclusive children’s books that explore animal sensory perception and wildlife conservation, as well as preserving cultural heritage of marine protected areas - with the goal of inspiring curiosity, empathy, and stewardship in young readers. My long-term vision is to become a National Geographic Explorer, blending wildlife conservation research, artistic storytelling, and sustainability-driven outreach to illuminate the natural world and advocate for its protection. I am actively seeking full-time opportunities that contribute to leading conservation organizations.
