I am a process engineer with more than 25 years experience. I have worked in various industries, from specialist chemicals and nuclear, to refinery (petrochemical) and mining. I easily adapt to a new environment and industry and am quick to learn. I have extensive experience in all phases of process engineering design (concept, basic and detail), as well as experience in commissioning and plant optimization and defaulting. I started my career as process engineer at the Chemical Division of the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) in September 1997. I was involved in the design and commissioning of several unit operations for new fluorochemical plants, as well as the defaulting and optimizing of existing plants. I joined the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) engineering team in April 2005. I was initially involved as system engineer in specification of auxiliary systems to the main power plant. In October 2006 I transferred to the Fuel Development Laboratories as process engineer, with my main responsibilities the commissioning and defaulting of a pilot plant for coating uranium oxide kernels in a high temperature fluidized bed reactor. In June 2010 I joined the Nuclear Engineering Department at Necsa. My main responsibility was as area lead for the basic design of a low-enriched uranium fuel plant. I was also mentor to junior engineers. In June 2012 I was employed as senior process engineer at Fluor SA. I was firstly involved on the detail engineering for tank replacements to be done at Sasol Secunda. Thereafter I was involved in the basic engineering for Natref Clean Fuels. I have also provided process input and performed as lead engineer on various small projects for Sasol and Natref, as well as in the diamond mining industry. In February 2017 I joined Resonant Nuteq, where I have been involved in the design of new (greenfields) production plants for international clients, as well as defaulting analyses of existing plants. Projects include basic design for a rocket fuel facility, basic and detail design for a plant to produce fluorochemicals, basic and detail design of a nuclear fuel plant and concept design for a vaccine manufacturing facility.
