About Anne Barrett
I am an experienced social worker who has worked for over twenty five years in the Adult Mental Health Services. Currently, my particular interest is in identifying and addressing the housing needs of people connected to the mental health services in line with the National Housing Strategy for Disabled People. I returned from retirement as a Principal Social Worker to pursue this. I am driven by a belief in human rights, recovery focused practices, and in making things happen. As Programme Lead for a supported housing initiative known as START (Support for Tenancy And Recovery Targets) in the South East, cross sector collaborations have led to positive housing and support outcomes for over 80 people. SETU (formerly WIT) evaluated this work in 2022 with recommendations for its continued development. Outside of work I enjoy choral singing and having fun with grandchildren.
