About Anne Coote

I am an agricultural professional who is “most comfortable on farm working with landholders”, networking and talking to fellow farmers and discussing shared experiences, challenges, and solutions. A rich career has developed from agronomy & spanned senior positions in agribusiness, agricultural insurance, natural resource management, biodiversity conservation with the State government, and now carbon farming. I have participated in the NSW Environmental Markets Leadership Network, I am a current member for Soil Carbon & Regenerative Agriculture Taskforce with Australian Organic Limited, a Mentor on the Australian Rural Leadership - Mentorship program and a member of Drift Alert Australia a group of scientists concerned about herbicide drift and the impacts on native vegetation. And originating member of the Regenerative Agriculture Facebook group now boasting 56K membership facilitating engaging conversations around the world. Combined with running our property 'Neringla'(means place of water) on Kamilaroi country west of Moree, my experience is grounded in practical application and informed by a scientific & curious mind while continuing educational and professional achievements. My career has taken me on a journey driven by awareness of the importance of soil carbon for production but to bring our soils back to life. From mainstream intensive agricultural practice through to regenerative agriculture, soil health, and carbon farming. With a passion for holistic management & diversity, there is a need for change. In 2020 I joined the Team at Climate Friendly, one of Australia’s leading carbon project developers. My roles in product and business development and now customer engagement supports the companies' “profit for purpose” extension into new landscapes that can benefit from the national drive to sequester carbon in the soil. This is a great opportunity to help landholders transition to a more regenerative farming system driven by the carbon cycle. It’s a win, win.
