About Anne Hipps

I recently graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Medical Humanities in December of 2024. My education has fostered a commitment and passion for improving healthcare accessibility and quality. My senior thesis,"The Issue is Poverty: The Disparities of Healthcare Access and Quality in America", explores how social factors influence health outcomes, from before one even enters a healthcare facility, using the US Department of Health and Human Services social determinants of health. I also completed a capstone paper for my Medical Humanities minor titled "Adolescence is Not Linear: The Benefits of an Interdisciplinary Approach to Adolescent Medicine", which highlights my interest in interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare, especially for underserved populations.As an active member of the Alpha Kappa Delta Honors Society of Sociology, and a six-time President's List honoree, I’ve developed a strong foundation in research, analysis, and writing. My goal is to use these skills in a healthcare setting where I can contribute to impactful, patient-centered solutions that address health inequities.I am currently working as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator where I work directly with caregivers in the community to develop ISFP plans for their infants / toddlers that show developmental delays. I work alongside speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and psychical therapists to ensure all children enrolled with Children's Therapy Connections are meeting their goals and their caregivers have the tools needed to promote growth and development for their little ones.
