About Anne Joynt

Anne E. Joynt is a Partner at Lipsitz, Ponterio & Comerford, LLC, a plaintiff litigation firm. She is an experienced attorney with success handling matters involving toxic tort exposure, medical malpractice, general negligence and the Child Victims Act. Anne serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Western New York Women's Foundation, and as a Board member of the Buffalo Chapter of Girls on the Run. She is also a Board Member for the Erie County Bar Association Aid to Indigent Prisoners Society, Inc, which provides legal representation in Criminal Courts and Family Court in Erie County to those affected by poverty. Anne is a Past President of the University at Buffalo Law School Alumni Association, and previously served as President of that body’s GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Group Committee. She has mentored law students each year since 2008. She also currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Council. Anne is a Past President of the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of New York (WBASNY). She was also elected to serve as Corresponding Secretary on the State Board. She chairs the Press and Public Relations Committee and previously chaired the Equal Opportunity in the Profession Committee. She is a recipient of the WNY Chapter's M. Delores Denman Lady Justice Award. Anne was elected Director of the Bar Association of Erie County for 2013-2016. The Bar Association of Erie County has one of the only contested elections for its Board of Directors in the State of New York. Anne was also elected to serve as a member of the Nominations Committee from 2017-2020. Anne was previously a Board member of the Minority Bar Foundation, Inc, which works to ensure continued minority representation in the profession. Anne also previously served on the Board for the National Federation of Just Communities. Anne was designated an Upstate New York SuperLawyer from 2021-2023, and as a Rising Star from 2013-2020. This honor recognizes the top lawyers in Upstate New York via a selection process involving peer nomination. Anne was also named to the Legal Elite of Western New York, which recognizes the top 140 attorneys in the area as designated by their peers, from 2017-2019. Anne was also a finalist for the Athena Young Professional Award in 2013 and 2019. Anne was honored by the Women Lawyers of Western New York as “Woman Lawyer of the Year” in 2017. In 2014, Anne was a Buffalo Business First “40 Under 40” Honoree.
