About Anne Morris

Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Johns Hopkins University with a deep passion for supporting individuals in their mental health journeys. My academic training, combined with hands-on clinical experience with in community mental health care, university counseling center mental health care, and background in health sciences has shaped my ability to provide compassionate, client-centered, and evidence-based care. With experience in both individual and group therapy, I incorporate approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, and somatic healing techniques to address struggles such as mood disorders, anxiety, depression, performance anxiety, identity, life transitions, stress management, and overall well-being. My background as being a Division 1 athlete and in working with student-athletes has deepened my understanding of the psychological pressures they face, from balancing performance expectations to managing injury recovery and career transitions. Beyond direct counseling, I am passionate about advocating for mental health awareness both with in and outside of sports and high-performance settings. I aim to bridge the gap between mental health and performance, helping individuals cultivate resilience, self-awareness, sustainable success, and balance in life. My long-term goal is to work within private/group practices, collegiate, professional, and elite performance settings, providing specialized mental health support tailored to the unique challenges of each individual I meet with. I am always eager to connect with professionals, mentors, and organizations dedicated to holistic and individualized care of clients as well as those who specialize in athletic counseling, sport psychology, and those working with high performance individuals.
