About Anne Pennington

Currently Senior Project Manager at SMG, I specialise in supporting planning and development of health improvement interventions, service commissioning specifications and social marketing projects. My work on the segmentation and marketing plan to inform smoking cessation programmes in Knowsley resulted in the Highly Commended award in the North West Public Health Awards 2009 for the project Increasing Smoking Quitters in Knowsley through Insight and Understanding. Prior to this I led the way on visitor research in UK museums and galleries and founded the Visitor Studies Group. I led development of audience development plans for the International Slavery Museum and the Museum of Liverpool which contributed to the largest Heritage Lottery Fund grant ever awarded to a museum at that time. I am a long-standing member of the Market Research Society and in 2014 I achieved the Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. I qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2017 and lead chair-based exercise classes for older people. I am a Trustee for All Saints Children’s Ventures Nursery, Breakfast and After School Club.
