About Anne Pierce

I am one of two owners of Martin Pierce Hardware, a company founded by my husband, Martin Pierce in 1994. The company is a small creative entity and while I manage and direct the business side of this enterprise I am also very involved in the creative process. The company grew from the furniture designs of Martin Pierce Furnishings but evolved into a new entity and one that could keep pace with the breadth and variety of hardware designs that we were developing. While I enjoy the creative process and get to see new designs as they emerge my role is to assess which designs should go into production. Once a design is selected my focus turns to assessing the most cost-effective way to make the piece. While our work is cast using traditional lost wax foundry casting, occasionally we are able to incorporate 3D scanning and printing as an alternative to producing wax models and in rare instances as an alternative to carving an original pattern. A growing area for our company is in designing and creating original door handles for public areas in up-scale hotels and resorts. We have worked with leading interior designers to create unusual statement pieces and find that collaboration at the concept stage is key to developing truly outstanding signature door handles. Most recently we have added energy efficient lighting to our range of products and have launched a complete range of LED door handles and wall lights that have been UL tested and approved.
