About Anne Powers

I am happy to report that I am teaching English at Padua Academy in Wilmington, Delaware now. This is a lovely, faith-filled school with dedicated, caring faculty and staff, and awesome students! I feel fortunate to once again be a part of a Catholic school and community. Before coming to Padua, I spent 13 wonderful years as a teacher at Saint Thomas More Academy (STMA), a small Catholic college-preparatory school in Magnolia, Delaware. My experiences in the classroom, as a club moderator, on student retreats, participating in community service, and getting to know many amazing teens and their families helped shape who I am today. I am thankful I was able to be a part of the STMA family before the school had to close due to financial hardships. Prior to teaching, I spent 20 years as a Logistics Officer in the U.S. Air Force. My assignments entailed managing people, resources, plans, and programs in support of the Air Force's flying missions. Whether stationed at home or abroad, working with military or civilian personnel, I learned a lot about life and people. Over the years, I have been fortunate to have experienced the rewards of being a part of something bigger than myself; I hope to continue that trend in my next job.
