About Anne Rieman

Hello! I have written for Funny or Die, will.i.am's short-lived comedy site, DipDive, many, many sketches for my sketch teams at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in LA, and my very own stand-up act, performed at venues across the city including the Laugh Factory. And I also received my MFA from Bennington College with a focus on poetry and creative non-fiction. I've published essays in Jezebel, the morning news, The Purple Fig, as well as literary journals like River and South Review and Plainsongs. My critical essay about comedy in poetry is awaiting publication. I'm currently working on a podcast about my long-time love of film through the lens of family and parenting. All of my writing is either serious or comedic or, my favorite, a sweet, complicated mixture of the two.
