I love food. Who would have thought I could make a career from talking about food all day! I initially thought I wanted to work in a dialysis center with patients who have kidney disease. But while going back to school to get my RD, I volunteered with my school's sports nutrition program and found a new spark of interest and a new path to follow. I had been a college tennis player and working with these athletes brought all that excitement back. Knowing that I am helping these athletes perform at their best brings me a sense pride and accomplishment. I have always been a fan of plant-based eating, especially when working with athletes, but I have now been able to bring that enthusiasm to cardiac rehab working with the Ornish intensive cardiac rehabilitation program.
