About Anne Thompson

We all desire to excel at something, especially something we're passionate about. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was six-years-old. By the time I entered my senior year of high school, I had already amassed a collection of children's books from resale shops for my future classroom. This passion has not waned, and with ten years' experience in elementary education and specializations in both literacy and English learning, that passion has transformed into excellence. The following experiences help demonstrate this:*Chosen by district literacy specialist to pilot reading curriculum and coach kindergarten teachers the following year *Took on role of first grade Team Lead *Hand-picked for needed reading interventionist role *Promoted to TESOL & Reading Coordinator One thing never changes, though. I've always wanted to work directly with students. Even in my current role, I teach intervention groups alongside my more administrative responsibilities. I find joy in walking alongside my students as they learn and grow. As a lifelong learner myself, I strive to better my craft. Part of that includes making connections with others in the field.
