Background
About Anneka Lambert
Hello LinkedIn! My name is Anneka Lambert and I am a first-year J.D. Candidate at Colorado Law (Class of 2028). I came to law school to pursue environmental law as a tool for justice, to advocate for communities impacted by environmental wrongs and to address the legal challenges of climate change. I am specifically interested in public interest environmental litigation, public land use, and water law. I earned my B.S. in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources with distinction and a minor in Legal Studies from Colorado State University in 2024. At CSU, I worked as a student researcher for the Natural Resource Ecology Lab on soil carbon sequestration experiments, working collaboratively with my supervisor in addition to managing projects independently. In 2023, I completed a 12-week field ecology course in New Zealand culminating in a directed research project studying the population growth of a highly endangered native insect (the Giant Weta) within a protected area. These experiences grounded my understanding of the scientific dimensions of environmental issues and the importance of evidence-based advocacy. Following graduation, I accepted an Environmental Services internship in Anchorage, Alaska, where I worked as part of a team delineating wetlands and collected data to inform permit applications. I continued to work with the same company as an environmental scientist consultant, helping draft NEPA-related documents, including Critical Issues Analyses and Supplemental Environmental Reports. This role deepened my understanding of how environmental policy is implemented and inspired me to pursue change within the law. I'm passionate about using the law to protect natural resources and public land and support communities disproportionately affected by pollution and climate impacts. I'm eager to connect with mentors and organizations dedicated to advancing environmental protection and equitable policy solutions.
