About Annetta Latham

My primary passion in the Arts and Culture sector is cultural policy and project management. My professional practice and leadership reflect the importance of strategic policy development, corporate planning, evaluating processes and coordinating the delivery of priority projects through successful resource and time management. I have provided high-level strategic advice on business and operational funding for artistic and cultural programs, along with developing effective marketing and communications plans. As the Associate Dean Film, Acting and Media Production, I manage the academic processes for undergraduate and graduate programs, including Film & Media Production, Film & Television Post-Production, Multi-Platform StoryTelling, Broadcast Radio, Broadcast Television, Acting for Stage & Screen, and Theatre Production. I develop strategic plans for faculty's academic programs, provide pedagogical support, lead curriculum mapping, the analysis of student recruitment, enrolment and retention data, manage international relationships, and have department financial stewardship of $8 million. I prepare and manage faculty and support staff annual evaluations and currently reviewing four programs, developing 56+ courses, for online non-direct and in-person learning. As the Chair of Arts and Cultural Management, I was responsible for extensive curriculum development, resulting in implementation of a Bachelor of Fine Art, Arts and Cultural Management Degree. I provided student engagement support, addressing issues concerning diversity, inclusion, accessibility, equity, Indigenization, decolonisation, health and well-being. I am passionate about equitable pathways to education. I have extensive experience in teaching and learning that is student-focused, using digital and blended teaching and curriculum design, resulting in educational solutions that enhance student engagement and experience, support sustainable growth for students, faculty, and programs. I have mentored students through internal practicums, work-integrated learning/field placements, independent study and supporting student projects through various methodologies, including qualitative research, arts practice-based research and creation-based research. As a strategic research creative, I bring my industry expertise to my work to develop the next generation of thinkers and professionals in the cultural and creative industries through academic management that supports teaching and research, and that seeks a deeper engagement with place, community partners and global connections.
