About Annette Levi

Annette E. Levi is a professor of Agricultural Business at California State University, Fresno. She received her PhD in Agricultural Economics in 1990 from Washington State University. Levi’s specialty is in agricultural marketing with a focus on consumer demand for horticultural products, grass-fed beef, wine and other beverages. She initiated and led study abroad programs to China, Chile, Ghana, South Africa, Italy and Spain. Her research areas include how various demographic characteristics impact food choice as well as working on agricultural labor issues. Levi is an exemplary teacher who has worked on program evaluation, five-year reviews, and curriculum assessment. Formerly Chair of the Agricultural Business Department, Dr. Levi has extensive experience in program leadership and service. She developed relevant experience in 1) coordinating faculty teaching loads, course sequencing and curricular content; 2) evaluating curricular requirements for core and elective sets for program needs; 3) developing and implementing Assessment Plans; 4) has conducted focus groups of stakeholders – students, alumni and employers; and 5) has addressed issues of fairness regarding faculty and staff by designing transparent college and department policy. Dr. Levi’s research results have been published in The Journal of Foodservice, Journal of American College Health, Journal of International Food and Agribusiness Marketing, the Journal of Food Distribution Research and Natural Hazards. Currently she is working on: a) expansion of international study abroad into the agribusiness department at Fresno State, b) strategic curriculum design that meets professional and career needs of students and employers, c) research projects that impact agribusiness.
