About Annie Brown
My Tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Counselling (2019), Graduate Diploma in Theology (2019), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology (2023). My counselling career has been spent in a variety of contexts: High-schools, a not for profit organization working with at-risk youth, co-facilitating process groups of Bachelor of Counselling students, and as a post-graduate intern in private practice with a psychotherapeutic focus. I now work full time at KingsWay school as Head of Counselling working mainly with rangatahi and tamariki in years 0-13. Although establishing a warm and safe connection with the young people I see is my priority, I often draw on the modalities of Narrative Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems to support effective practice. I am a provisional member of NZAC and am due to be fully registered in 2024.
