Annie Frey, MSW, LMSW, MA, Psychotherapist & OCD/Anxiety SpecialistAnnie Frey is a passionate psychotherapist specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders, certified as an OCD and anxiety specialist by Dr. Elliot Kaminetzky. She previously worked at Essen Health Care, a large private medical clinic serving Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, where she excelled in interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based treatment of a broad range of DSM-5 disorders including anxiety, OCD, depression, bipolar, and personality disorders. Annie holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University, a Master’s in Education from the University of Copenhagen, is dually licensed in New York and New Jersey, and is a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society for outstanding academic achievement.Annie treats all presentations of OCD — including the lesser-known sensorimotor OCD — as well as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, depression, body-focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania and excoriation disorder, ARFID, and works with loved ones of individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder. She also provides SPACE treatment for parents of children and teens with OCD and anxiety. Annie works with adults and adolescents ages 13 and up.At the core of Annie’s work is highly individualized care. While Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold standard for OCD and anxiety treatment, she believes no two treatment plans should ever look the same. Annie combines clinical expertise with creativity to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, always meeting clients where they are with deep respect for their lived experience and self-knowledge. She integrates CBT and ACT when appropriate and values a therapeutic relationship built on trust, rapport, empathy, and authenticity — with room for humor and humanity alongside strong clinical work. Supportive yet results-focused, Annie holds clients accountable while compassionately guiding them toward meaningful change.Having lived across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America, Annie brings a culturally sensitive and globally informed perspective to her practice and enjoys working with individuals from all backgrounds.
