About Annie MacFarlane

I’m the founder of Charged Ink, a digital content and communications company based in Amsterdam. I’ve spent the last ten years creating online content and social media for household name brands. My career has zigzagged through software companies, agencies, and corporate communications teams, with a long-standing side-gig as a musician to keep me on my toes. At work I’m a writer, a doer, and an organiser. My strengths lie in teasing out the messages that make brands and businesses unique and desirable to the right audiences, and giving them structure and articulation. I’m at my best when I'm taking raw ideas and turning them into polished, ready-to-go content, practical plans and toolkits for companies and teams. Clients see me as a safe pair of hands when they're stretched, like during rebrands, product launches, and global campaigns. Longer term, I help clients work on their communications strategies and provide flexible support to bring their plans to life. I work both one-on-one and with input from a network of trusted specialists who provide complementary skills like visual design or multi-language support on a project-by-project basis.
