About Annie Storey

Entering the early stages of your career can be overwhelming. As a Career Counsellor, I support and guide young adults with career decision-making and planning as they enter the world of work and leave their secondary or tertiary education. I help my clients lay the foundations for productive and purposeful careers. I connect with young adults (and often their parents), allowing them an emotionally safe space and support of quality career conversations that will lead to smart and purposeful career decision-making. I educate young adults on how to steer their careers to align with their interests, strengths, wants and needs. I encourage and demonstrate how to create career opportunities and to always be a couple of steps ahead. Using trusted career development tools combined with traditional counselling techniques, I bring a future-focused perspective to my counselling practice. I enjoy connecting and developing rapport with my clients and hope to inspire greater self-awareness, informed decision-making, motivation and purpose. Prior to Career Development & Education, I enjoyed a successful 12 year career in the property sector with a number of leading international organisations. Toward the end of my career in the property sector I identified challenges in helping graduates transition into the constantly changing world of work. An opportunity to work with these graduates allowed me to identify a new passion and purpose where my values and skills aligned. After obtaining the necessary post-graduate studies, I founded ADAPT Careers in 2018. With my proven business acumen and drive to connect with and help young adults navigate the complexities of leaving education and entering the workforce I bring a refreshing balance of compassion and determination that complement my academic qualifications and enhance my counselling practice. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Graduate Diploma in Careers Education & Development, and a Professional Certificate in Adolescent Counselling and Wellbeing from Monash and am a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA), and the National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (NAGCAS). Committed to using reliable tools to help my clients move forward I am accredited in the Morrisby Career Assessment, MBTI Personality Assessment and The Strengths Profiler.
