About Annika Olson

I am an Assistant State's Attorney for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in the criminal prosecution bureau where I prosecute misdemeanor offenses. I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. There, I served as the Lead Student Ambassador in the UW Law Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and gained legal experience in various industries. I interned at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office in New York in the trial division, worked in-house at gener8tor (a Madison-based venture capital firm), and served as a Clinical Law Student for the Family Court Clinic at UW Law. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Kansas (rock chalk!) with a double major in Political Science and Communication Studies and minor in Art History. During undergrad I worked in the Victim Assistance Unit of the Johnson County District Attorney's Office in Olathe, Kansas, gaining experience in criminal law and discovering my passion for advocacy. Additionally, I have a background in marketing and career consulting, which has provided experience and specialization in customer service, effective communication, persuasion, and problem solving through creativity.
