About Anthea Howard

I am a diligent commercial accountant currently working within the non profit sector for a local mental health charity, Burton & District Mind. Working in this sector provides me with a great sense of fulfilment, knowing that my efforts to manage costs aids local service users. Prior to my current role my background has been several years experience in logistics & FMCG. I have managed & developed Finance Teams including the implementation of the Finance function at a new site. I have adopted a methodical & analytical approach & take pride in my attention to detail. I also enjoy getting involved in functions outside of finance, having been a fire warden, health & safety rep, treasurer of both XPO Sports & Social Club for the Stone Depot & Sainabury's Social Association for the Hams Hall Depot & having provided HR support in redundancy consultations. Being inquisitive I have a thirst for knowledge & a passion for learning new skills & my determination to succeed enabled me to dedicate myself to achieve ACCA qualification, later followed by FCCA status. I am very competitive, I think this comes from the many years spent in my childhood & adolescence as a gymnast competing around the country representing my club & county. I also feel that time spent as a qualified gymnastics coach responsible for large groups of children & several assistant coaches provided me with a good grounding in leadership which I have been able to transfer into a business environment. With experience of communicating to diverse audiences I am able to present financial information to non finance personnel & I enjoy interacting with the customer & other non finance functions within the business. I am eager to please those around me, strive to build good customer relationships & to deliver excellence. Having a caring nature & a huge passion for animals, outside of working hours I enjoy spending my leisure time with my animals as well as teaching gymnastics at a local gymnastics club.
