About Anthony Avendano

I am an undergraduate student at studying computer science at CSU Stanislaus committed to improving and developing my skills in machine learning and data science. Previously I have worked as a undergraduate data science researcher at The Data Mine, a learning community at Purdue University partnered with V2X, to develop a maintenance troubleshooter application that can leverage natural language processing and other machine learning methods to help users with part repair and replacement. I have also worked on a summer research project at UC Riverside, where I explored different methods of quantization to compress large language models onto edge devices, with the goal of creating interactive virtual avatars of historical figures. Additionally, I have participated in a Google-funded research program, where I investigated a comparative analysis of social media platforms and their follower networks. Through these experiences, I have learned how to apply data science techniques to solve real-world problems, collaborate with diverse teams, and communicate effectively with different audiences. I am passionate about using data science for social good and education, and I am eager to join an organization that shares this vision and values. I believe that I can bring a unique perspective and a creative approach to the team, as well as a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
