I am an experienced Integration Architect and Developer with 25 years experience of working with systems integration, primarily but not exclusively in the SAP domain. I have just finished a two year hybrid integration project consisting of 60 integrations between SAP and Microsoft Azure 5 Orchestrations running on Azure Logic Apps 60 integrations running on SAP CPI 1 month after go-live we had over 4800 integration calls and 12 failures, giving a go-live failure rate of 0.0025. Because as the Architect responsible for eliciting customer requirements, designing the architecture to meet those requirements, understanding the technical capabilities of the solution and - most importantly - having learnt the hard way about how to work with people and steer work in such a way as to make each individual feel valued and worthy I worked on several levels: As a Business Expert - Understanding the Business Domain- Thinking for the customer what their needs would be. As an Architect - Anticipating what could go wrong at run time in production and factoring in the mitigations into the design- Working with Misuse Cases- Working with the Test team to provide maximal code coverage tests. As a Developer - Evaluating the feasibility of the Architectural design from a technical perspective- Feeding back to the Architectural level tweaks and adjustments to improve the architecture. As a Team Lead - Understanding that people come before profits - profits will follow from a happy functioning team- Prioritizing individuals in the team over my own ego- Wanting people to feel valued, and watching them feed back into the team with their own drive and energy- Emphasizing that at the end of the day, it was the team that made the success, not me.
