About Anthony Brooks

Anthony, or "Brooks"(as I’ve affectionately known as) was born in Baltimore, MD. My career in cinematography was sparked by an exploratory nature growing up as a military brat in countries such as Cuba, Sicily, and various cities throughout the US. This nomadic experience would shape a vast world view that made it inevitable that I became a visual storyteller of some sort. In 2010, I journeyed into Los Angeles, beginning with freelance gigs in post-production—and eventually became a professional cinematographer and member of the International Cinematographer's Guild. Over the past 15 years I’ve traveled, shooting scripted narratives and documentaries that took me to the forgotten corners of the world. I’ve been in the streets of Istanbul, deserts of California, the rural Southern US, the maze of Old City Jerusalem, and even the heart of Israel and Palestine—spending time just about every type of neighborhood, in every condition, with every type of crew. With a global perspective, travel is what hardens my approach to life. I’ve lensed and led teams on feature films, commercials, docuseries—for Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Sony, eBay, Microsoft, Nike, and Jordan Brand —most notably Amazon Studios’ Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. The docuseries offers a behind-the-scenes look at the biggest attraction in high school basketball. Featuring the sons of NBA legends, the series chronicles the trials of one of the most talked about programs in prep sports and garnered a nomination 2022 Critic’s Choice for Best Sports Series. Looking to the future—I’m actively engaging with AI technology to shape the next chapter of his work. Currently enrolled in the UC Berkeley HaaS AI For Business program I’m dedicating time to collaborating with tech startups in AI-driven projects.
