About Anthony Buchfuhrer

Anthony Buchfuhrer is a passionate and driven student at the University of Chicago, pursuing a BA in Environment, Geography, and Urbanization, coupled with a minor in Education and Society. He is especially interested in the intersection of environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and equitable access to education and resources—working to understand and dismantle the systemic barriers that impact marginalized communities. As a FIELD Fellow with The Farmlink Project, Anthony collaborates with other fellows from across the nation to address food waste and food insecurity by learning from industry leaders about the realities of farming at a small and large scale, new solutions in the space, and entrepreneurial strategies to enable greater impact. His work reflects a deep commitment to environmental justice and sustainable systems, engaging with both grassroots and policy-level solutions. With a strong foundation in research, project implementation, and non-profit environments, Anthony has honed skills in data analysis, communication, and creative problem-solving. He also participates in SEO Scholars, a program that provides educational and career opportunities for underrepresented students. Across all his experiences, Anthony is guided by a passion for justice, a love for community building, and a belief in the power of young people and bold ideas to drive transformative change.
