About Anthony Burton

Anthony (Tony) Burton is a passionate queer rights activist, communications professional, and author based proudly out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a queer rights activist, Tony founded Loring Collective in 2019 to empower local queer creatives in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Since its founding, Tony has participated in a fiscal sponsorship program for the Collective through Propel Nonprofits, achieved 501c3 independence, and spearheaded 5 years of programming as Loring Collective's President. Thanks to this experience, Burton brings a well-rounded familiarity on the nonprofit world into every professional setting he participates in. As a communications professional, Tony has played a pivotal role in Hospitality Minnesota's Communications strategy since joining the trade association in 2022. Since he began his work at the association, Tony has formulated and executed a successful ads program, managed all social media and email publications for association, tracked all association communication analytics, arranged media inquiries, designed all branded collateral, and provided critical help to his coworkers. Thanks to this experience, Burton brings a deep understanding of all aspects of an organization's communication strategy. As an author, Tony publishes queer-centric fiction under the pen name Anthony Scott. In August 2024, he self-published his debut queer fantasy novel, Scorpio Rising. In January 2025, he published Scorpio Rising's sequel, Cardinal Fire. Both are available on Amazon. He has also written two musicals, two original plays, and has more novels on the way.
