About Anthony Capone

Anthony serves as a Director in KPMG LLP’s Northeast Indirect Tax Practice. His emphasis is sales and transactions tax planning and consulting services for a diverse client base. Anthony has extensive multi-state sales, use, property, and excise tax experience. He has handled state and local sales and use tax audits in 40 states and has also conducted managed audits. He has conducted numerous “large scale” refund analysis projects to determine planning opportunities and quantifying sales and use tax exposure and/or refunds. Anthony also has negotiated state and local tax incentives in a number of states including Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey and New York, and has implemented processes and controls to monitor and to comply with the terms of the program. He has conducted due diligence reviews concerning mergers and acquisitions. He also reviews existing SOX 404 internal controls, state and local compliance requirements, analyzes policies and procedures, and recommends process improvements to increase tax compliance efficiency and accuracy; and has implemented Managed Compliance Agreements.Specialties: State and local tax planning, research, audits and tax compliance on a national level. Anthony has multi-state transaction tax experience in cloud base solutions including but not limited to software as a service (SaaS), IaaS, PaaS, video streaming, etc.
