About Anthony Concepcion

Dr. Anthony Concepcion, is program chair and assistant professor of instruction at the University of South Florida (USF), leading the Master of Arts program in Applied Behavior Analysis within the Department of Child & Family Studies. Since 2017, he has been committed to preparing the next generation of behavior analysts for impactful careers, drawing on his extensive experience in clinical practice, higher education administration, and doctoral training in teaching pedagogy.Dr. Concepcion attained a Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida and a master's degree in Human Services Psychology with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Before joining USF, Dr. Concepcion worked as a clinical specialist at the prestigious Kennedy Krieger Institute's (KKI) Neurobehavioral Unit/Johns Hopkins Medical School. While at KKI, he provided treatment for individuals displaying aggressive, disruptive, and self-injurious behaviors.His research interests include the assessment and treatment of severe behavior, behavioral assessment, decision-making, and behavior analytic program evaluation of higher education curricula. Dr. Concepcion actively contributes to the university community and the broader academic field, serving as the chair of the CFS Governance Council, academic advisor for Beta Chi at USF, and editor for the Journal of Educators Online, among many other roles.With a passion for excellence, innovation, and collaboration in higher education, Dr. Concepcion is dedicated to continue making an impact through educating future generations of behavior analysts.
