About Anthony Davie

I am a conscientious and service oriented IT professional with 25 years of IT experience, both in the private and public sectors. I have worked the last eighteen years in an academic research and higher education support context.My career has developed from front-line customer IT support (primarily Wintell and MS Office) through to Windows Server, storage (NAS and SAN), virtualisation (VMware) and backup (Symantec NetBackup, ArcServe and IBM Spectrum Protect) infrastructure technical support.For the last 11 years I have had the privilege of leading an Information Services Team, within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, delivering, developing and enhancing multidisciplinary sections providing operational support, Research, Teaching and Clinical infrastructures and business systems services for the world renowned Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and Roslin Institute.I really enjoy helping people, creating solutions for problems, developing my team to be the best they can be and making a difference for those we support. I am committed to improving the delivery of high quality IT/IS services within the workplace, through continual service development.Outside of work, I like watching sport, occasionally play 5 a-aside football, field hockey and enjoying spending time with my amazing family.
