About Anthony Dawson

Anthony has over ten years' experience in archaeology, and the museums and heritage sector. He is a motivated graduate of the University of Bradford and University of Leeds. He is an experienced author, researcher and public speaker. He has also appeared on television including Channel 4 "Time Team" and "The Secret History of Railways" for Channel 5, as well as "Digging for Britain". Anthony volunteers for several hertiage organisations including the National Railway Museum. He is a member of the Railway & Canal Historical Society, the Museums Asociation, and the Newcomen Society. Anthony is a Director of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway Trust. He is Museum Manager at the Foxfield Railway, where he has led a succesful refurbishment of the Museum and archives. He is member of the Railway & Canal Historical Society's Publication Committee; a member of the Heritage Railway Association Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the HRA's Museum Committee. Anthony is also active in LGBT+ issues and history including the NRM's LGBTQ history project, and 'Archway' Network Rail's LGBT+ staff member organisation. He is a Unitarian with an active Lay Ministry, and is authorised to conduct Weddings, Baptisms and Funerals. In his spare time he enjoys playing the organ; rowing and other water sports.
