He is of Mexican-American heritage, making him familiar and exposed to Mexican-American culture as well as the regional Latino population and their diverse linguistic, cultural, and social nuances. Completing his formal interpreter training at El Camino College in 2011, he has since gone on to work professionally and continue his growth in a plethora of settings and under renowned mentors with years of experience in the field of ASL and Multilingual/Multicultural Interpretation. From formal, all-hands business meetings to intimate and case sensitive private matters; secondary and post secondary education to medical, platform, performing arts concerts, and theatrical to Spanish speaking/influenced settings and not without mentioning advanced training for mental health practitioners and Video-Relay/Video Remote Interpreting-Mr. Diaz has been exposed to a wide variety of settings and continues his growth to better enhance his technical skill set, awareness of linguistic and cultural varieties in Spanish influenced settings, and informed practice of ethical standards in ASL Interpreting. With his experience, Mr. Diaz strives to serve as a qualified and ethically responsible American Sign Language Interpreter.
