About Anthony Escamilla

I am an undergraduate Pre-Health student studying at NYU with a concentration in “Public Health Interventions, Latin American Identity, and the Ethics of Care” at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. I am also a student in the MPH Pathway program at NYU’s School of Global Public Health, pursuing a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in “Community Health Science and Practice” after completing my undergraduate studies. My main intention in entering the healthcare field is to explore the health disparities and social determinants affecting our society and to actively participate in efforts to address them. I am particularly passionate about serving underserved minority communities, especially Latino populations, who often face significant barriers to accessing quality healthcare. I hope to contribute to reducing these inequities through a focus on community health primary care and emergency medicine. These are fields that allow me to directly engage with patients and provide comprehensive, immediate, and preventive care. I am honored and excited to learn from those further along in their journey, regardless of their role within healthcare, and I hope to build meaningful relationships with professionals to deepen my understanding of medicine while developing the skills necessary to advocate for and care for vulnerable populations.
