About Anthony Hess

I’m currently the president of Cirrus Consulting which provides strategy, competitive positioning, and management services to organizations seeking to enter or expand their public sector health and information technology businesses. Previously, I served as the SVP of CACI’s Health Solutions Group with responsibility for the market sector strategy, the line organization, and the overall P&L of the operating unit. Prior to CACI, I served as the group vice president for Civilian Agencies, Healthcare and Natural Resources at Unisys Federal Systems. In this capacity, I lead business clusters in Energy & Environment, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources. Prior to joining Unisys, I was senior vice president and general manager of the Health Solution Business Unit (HSBU) of SAIC. Revenue for this business unit was derived from US public sector, commercial, and international sources. The Health Solution business unit had operations in 44 states, 11 countries and included approximately 2,100 staff members. Prior to joining SAIC, I served as the chief executive officer of HealthCare IT, an information technology company that provides software and services to the commercial and public sectors. Before that, I served as president and chief operating officer of Capital Technology Information Services, a clinical research informatics firm operating in both the commercial and public sectors. Prior to joining CTIS, Inc I spent four years with IBM operating the companies Federal Healthcare & Social Services business and holding several positions with the Healthcare & Life Sciences organization. Before joining IBM, I spent 12 years in scientific, management and executive roles at the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory operated by Battelle Memorial Institute. I received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Arizona State University followed by postdoctoral work in Theoretical Physics and Theoretical Chemistry at PNNL.
