About Anthony Jacobs

I am interested in computers and their role in furthering understanding of biology, behavior, and related fields. It is my desire to use my experience and skills that I've acquired as a Programmer Analyst and Data Analyst to move back into the computational biology field. I have experience working with Florida State University's High Performance Computing (HPC) using EMBOSS for DNA sequencing. I have strong experience programming in Python, SQL, Java, C, C++, SAS, HTML and CSS. My previous responsibilities include the use of SAS and SQL to analyze and develop reports of statistical evaluations of trauma patient records in the state of Florida. These reports were used for state and national publications and aided medical research. I have worked on specialized teams with the Florida Department of Health, Office of Trauma conducting site surveys to evaluate all certified Florida trauma centers in order to maintain their trauma center status. I led the verification and analysis of each trauma center's local database using proprietary programs, such as NATIONAL TRACS (NTRACS), TraumaBase, Trauma One, or other in house database software.
