Anthony Lam is an Aviation Accident Analyst at the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), where his aviation safety journey began as an air safety investigative intern in 2010. Inspired by witnessing the aftermath of a 2009 fatal air accident while at UC Davis after earning his private pilot license, Anthony later earned agency recognition for outstanding service as an investigative intern.Subsequently, Anthony spent more than a decade in the Far East advancing aviation safety. He served as editor-in-chief of a bilingual general aviation magazine where he founded its safety column, and later became a leader in business aviation safety advocacy - publishing aviation safety-focused editorials, lobbying for stronger aviation safety legislation, and organizing regional aviation safety summits and standdowns across Hong Kong, China, and Southeast Asia, many of which were keynoted by NTSB leadership.Returning to the NTSB headquarters in 2024 as he had committed to do since the end of his internship more than a decade prior, Anthony brings international expertise, bilingual communication skills, and passion as a fixed- and rotor-wing rated pilot. Born in San Francisco, raised in Hong Kong, and bred in Shanghai, Anthony is native in English and Cantonese, with Mandarin and Taiwanese in his repertoire.
