About Anthony Lam

With extensive UX leadership experience in SaaS startups and leading B2C giants, I’ve excelled in organizations committed to open source, security & privacy, and making commerce accessible for all. I’m dedicated to delivering impactful user experiences and leading resilient (often distributed) design teams. As a product design manager and staff-level contributor, I seek clarity and cross-functional alignment through onsite workshops, field research, and design sprints. I've redefined UX hiring processes and crafted career ladder guides to help grow the UX practice and mentor other designers. My approach focuses on collaboration, prioritizing trust across all functions while maintaining a dedication to design excellence. Recently, I designed for retail environments and played a pivotal role in establishing developer-facing design systems. I also contributed to complex design systems like Polaris and Polaris for retail. Before that I focused on new product explorations, working closely with senior leadership to take ideas from 0 to 1.
