About Anthony Lee
I am an aspiring biomedical engineer, currently in my 3rd year studying Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Biomedical Engineering) at the University of Sydney. My aspiration is to make an impact on the lives of people who are afflicted by conditions such as osteoarthritis - conditions which affect hundreds of millions globally, and which without treatment can leave patients in severe pain and discomfort. My desired outcome is to work in research and technology, or product development to innovate and address these medical issues, through orthopaedic medical devices and methods. From ages 3 to 12, I suffered from EoE which required frequent trips to the gastroenterologist. This experience shaped my aspirations of becoming a biomedical engineer by highlighting the importance of the healthcare sector. By far, I was most interested in the people working behind the doctors and specialists to develop life-changing medicines and devices that have benefitted me and millions of others every single day.
