About Anthony Man

I'm currently a final year PhD researcher in improving fluid dynamics predictions with machine learning. With over three years in applied machine learning research, I have experience in the data science process, including preprocessing data, building machine learning models, assessing model performance using evalulation metrics, and analysing results with statistical methods. I'm proficient in Python and MATLAB, shell scripting for high performance computing, and visualisation tools such as ParaView and Matplotlib. My research has led to awards, including best paper at The University of Manchester Postgraduate Research Engineering Conference, and the Osborne Reynolds Doctoral Prize. I have given invited talks to industrial and academic groups, as well as presented my work at several conferences, including HEFAT2022 (Online), CFC2023 (Cannes), and TSFP13 (Montreal). My engineering background attests to my passion for problem solving. I studied MEng Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath between 2015 and 2020, which included a placement year at AtkinsRéalis in its energy business. In my free time, I enjoy having a drink with friends, creating digital art and playing guitar :)
