About Anthony McAleer

An intentional and strategic leader who was tasked with driving cultural and professional change in a highly regulated environment, I successfully re-engineered a team of 30+ Finanical Advisers by driving systemic and regulatory change enabling the business to be successfully purchased by PictureWealth. My diverse background has seen me owning, working with and managing a wide variety of organisations including financial planning, community services and professional services firms. As the Head of Advice and Responsible Manager on a Financial Services Licence I had to rebuild sections of the business, manage staff and engage the board and other external strategic business partners. Whilst exceptionally familiar with the economics that drive the need for change management my superpower is understanding the people behaviours that are needed to drive change management. My ability to think about the people consequences of change management is a factor that sets me apart from my peers in the implementation of change. I am also experienced with community engagement, public speaking and significant family and business mediation through succession planning. Being a former defence force member, I approach work and tasks in a disciplined and strategic manner being careful to ensure my team members are with me on the journey. Having worked the first part of my working life in high schools and community service organisations I am familiar with child protection and counselling frameworks especially in the context of youth engagement and suicide prevention amongst young people. I have adapted these frameworks and used them to successfully engage communities and business sectors to think about generational change using business as the tool. Additionally, I have built business models using behavioural psychology to better engage clients in traditional professional services such as accounting and financial planning. This has also led me to manage staff to sales and delivery targets, coach the same in sales skills and implement reflective listening training to assist more stoic professions to better engage their clients. This has often resulted in happier staff members, better financial results and more cohesive teams.
