Background

About Anthony McMurray

I'm the Academic Ambassador for the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. In this role I serve on the Academic Leadership Team, proctor the national audition tour, conduct callback auditions as well as teach on-camera acting and experimental improvisation workshops around the country. Before joining NYCDA, I spent several years working in Louisiana - serving as the Artistic Director for Playmakers of Baton Rouge and recruiting undergraduate theatre students as well as teaching adjunct in the Louisiana State University's School of Theatre. I'm truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other like minded individuals. Colleagues know me as a highly creative, compassionate educator who can always be trusted to have the best interests of his students in mind. I spend a lot of my time outside of the classroom thinking of ways to streamline my approach to teaching a number of objectives. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I'm at my best collaborating with others. I have an MFA from Louisiana State University and a BA from the University of Northern Colorado. I'm always interested in hearing from former students, colleagues or fellow educators, so feel free to contact me if you'd like to connect.
