About Anthony Merrilees

After early forays into elite sport and the music industry, I have spent more than 30 years working in professional services, business advisory and operational management across government, university, and private sectors. The early part of my career was in legal practice where I worked as solicitor in the ACT, NSW and QLD specializing in litigation and commercial advice for government and corporate clients. I then moved into consulting and business advisory where I have focussed on improving outcomes and performance for businesses and organisations through strategic advice, planning and mentoring. I am an all-rounder having held a range of senior management positions in several different industry sectors throughout my career and have experience in managing large numbers of staff and volunteers. I have a passion for and proven experience in law, cultural and creative industries, sports, strategic business planning, operational management, complex project and event management, stakeholder management, communications, financial management, and governance.
